Got a late, disorganized start, and forgot my camera. Took some iphone images anyway.
On arrival I heard gunshots, somewhere south of the road, fairly close, and unnerving. The few people I saw on the road were glancing around nervously every time a shot went off.
The weather was cloudy, and the snow was firm and packed, easy to walk on; much of the road had melted off. No wind at the lake at all. Took a moment on a large rock to eat half a blueberry crisp Clif bar before heading back down.
Very few people out and about. At the cafe in Nederland, the owner said it was the last ski weekend at Eldora, so people were staying home, and they'd have a few quiet weekends before the summer hiking season starts in earnest.
