Cinco de Snow
Sunday, May 5, 2019 – Brainard
A walk up the snowy road to Brainard. A few bicyclists braved the snowdrifts, carrying their bikes over the mush. I lugged my ski poles along this time, but probably would have done as well with trekking poles. The road up is mostly clear, with a couple of very deep drifts (8 feet). The circuit around the lake is still pretty snowy, at least on the far side.
Then it was off to Nederland, where my preferred coffee shop (Happy Trails) is out of business, and my fallback (New Moon Bakery) was out of power. So I went to Crosscut Pizza and got an arugala salad and a margherita pizza to go (for GoT night).
