The Fearless Adventure Returns

Phase 0: Zoom
After a blizzard last week disrupted their best laid plans for opening day, our intrepid explorers convened at 3pm via Zoom, to confirm that festivities should proceed this week. There was also some sharing of virtual backgrounds, some infants hiking across living rooms, some erupting Icelandic volcanoes, and some random joviality.
The committee voted, and approved by unanimous consent, the commencement of BNO 2021, this evening, Mar 24, at 5:30pm.
Phase 1: Meadowlark Trail
After waiting all this wretched winter for the return of the Big Night Out, our fearless adventurers have finally returned (albeit a week late). The venue this evening, the Meadowlark Trail, was bespattered with a dollop of snow here and there. It was also rather unpopulated, with only an airplane or two to accompany our fearless trio as they ascended the trail.
When at last our intrepid explorers reached the midpoint, suddenly a plethora of joggers, hikers, and cyclists began trundling past, like CGI droids traversing aimlessly through Mos Eisley Spaceport.
Phase 2, 3: Ix Nay
Well, the evening was a bit chilly, 34°F, with a cold breeze. Therefore the group decided to cancel Phases 2 and 3, opting for warmer climes. Our adventurers headed back to hearth and home, to dine, to sleep, perchance to dream of their next fearless adventure.
Addendum
The large plane that flew overhead as we arrived at the trailhead was a Hercules C130 cargo plane, AFRC 94-7320. I found a few other images of this plane on the web:
