May the Fourth
On a cool evening after the rain, S tripped and staggered up the Coalton Trail, stopping fairly often to photograph the various birds on various wires and posts along the path. Other than birds and prairie dogs, there was not much else on the trail, and only one other walker.
After a parched month of April with no precipitation (officially the driest Colorado April on record), May arrived with a day and half of very welcome rain. Numerous lawns suddenly turned green. There was even a rainbow. The Coalton Trail, being well-graveled, was only moderately squishy, and deposited only a modicum of mud on the tips of S’ trekking poles.
