Short Summer

Short Summer
Who knows where the time goes?
— Sandy Denny

A week from the end of summer. We had some hikes, some trips, some documented, some not so much.

On Wednesday the 14th of September, S and D trod along the South Boulder Creek West Trail. Leaves turning gold and fluttering down, clouds turning pink and fluttering up, birds sailing around, somewhere in between.

S was limping, with a bit of a calf-ache, who knows why. So a mile up, a mile back, and that was enough. A wince now and then, but there was a rainbow, like a bandaid across the sky, to disremember suffering for a moment or two.

Dā€™s shoulder is well on the mend, and he is off the next few weeks, to parts east.

A couple months of humpdays still ahead for 2022, then a Thanksgiving finale, and winter. But first, a little more fall.
