Airing Out
Wednesday, May 22, 2019 — Coalton Trail
Phase 1: In fog and light drizzle, S & D braved the Coalton Trail, bedecked in gore-tex and sturdy shoes. Duly weatherized, our fearless adventurers trudged through the chilly clime; indeed, the twain were nigh upon proclaiming themselves “Burly,” when up skipped a cheerful jogger in nought but a tank top and a smile.
The movie version: “Well now, miss, we was just airing out our gear after the long cold winter, ye know; it’s not like we needed this stuff, not a bit! Oh Look! Is that a coyote, creeping across the wold!?” [Our intrepid explorers scurry off to the tavern for mutton and ale.]
The actual version: “Hmm, I guess it’s not raining anymore. Well, it was, earlier.”
Phase 2: Village Tavern. Margherita Pizza and a Burger.
Phase 3: In situ; coffee and sundaes. S attempted the “caramel” version, and proclaimed it unworthy of BNO.
