Sunday, June 2, 2019 — Brainard Lake Road

Phase 1: S escaped the city heat and wandered up Sunday afternoon to Brainard Lake Rec Area Winter Parking Lot. The winter gate was still closed, but the road had been plowed all the way to the lake. It looks like it’s not plowed on the far side; next week’s objective is to find out.

Phase 2: Nederland. With Happy Trails down for the count, S got an expensive brownie and smoothie at New Moon Bakery and Cafe. ($12 for peach/oj smoothie and a brownie.) Note to self: next time, bring lunch. Or just buy a whole pizza at Crosscut, across the street.
