Phase 1: Walden Ponds
D, D2, and S set forth along 75th Street, in the smoke and haze of autumn, to the trailhead at Walden Ponds. A pleasant artificial wetland, with cottonwoods and cattails bordering the various ponds; and bordering these, the Boulder Water Resource Recovery Facility.
Frolicking blackbirds, and a goose looking by. A splash in the reeds; and yonder, some deer. Good folk wandering: walking dogs, walking people. A russet sun, red as autumn, falling into night.
Phase 2, 3: Trailhead
BC visited upon Dās kitchen and produced a batch of brownies for P3. Meanwhile, C was inspired to bake more cookies, and sent them along with D2. Many brownies were snarfed, many cookies were chomped. Some folk (who perhaps are not fearless adventurers) might feign to lament such an indulgence; but our intrepid explorers embraced their repast with neither pause nor regret.
As Thoreau wrote in Walden:
Live in each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influence of the earth.
And so we did.
Questions of the Night
What is length of a grocery cart (assuming two carts measure a minimal social distance between shoppers)?
What is the purpose of that bubble/dome over the water treatment plant?
What adjustments are needed for successful high-altitude cooking?
