Phase 1: Joder Ranch
After a bit of a mixup locating the trailhead, S, D, and D2 headed up the Joder Ranch trail. The sun dipped behind the hills, bringing welcome shade to the trail, and a light breeze cooled the air and washed away some of the wildfire smoke.
The mixup locating the trailhead? S was looking for a giant sign, but the trailhead entrance is marked only with an RTD bus stop post; poor fellow drove almost to Lyons (or as Siri calls it, /ljɔ̃/). Meanwhile, D2’s navigation app brought him to the opposite end of the trail, so he had to re-route.
