Phase 1: Bluebell Shelter

As a low pressure system hovered over the front range, D and S braved the plummeting temperatures to trudge their way up to Bluebell Shelter. At the trailhead, a gaggle of maniacal joggers hooted and yelped their compatriots to some imaginary finish line; each runner wore a climbing belt of jangling carabiners as they ran down the hill, grunting and gasping.

Not to be outdone, our fearless adventurers grunted and gasped up the hill. Oorah.

Phase 2: Eureka

Loud and crowded. Gotta bring earplugs next time.

Phase 3: Trident

Perusing postcards at Trident, following up with tea and cookies. Meanwhile, the temperature outside continued to fall, and clouds poured into Boulder Valley. By the time the snow had arrived the next morning, the temperature had dropped by 70ºF, from 85 to 15. Oorah.
